The player (Isaac Clarke) uses futuristic, space-age weapons and technology to combat these creatures and the Remake promises to make retreading this journey even more terrifying than before based on the developer stream shown above. The new Remake will see players traversing horror-themed environments, killing zombie-like enemies called Necromorphs, and discovering the horrific secrets that caused it all. With the use of the Frostbite game engine, we expect to see improvements to the lighting and visual effects, giving the game a fresh and terrifying look, surpassing the original. The game will feature enhanced graphical fidelity, and gameplay mechanics, smoothing out the sometimes clunky feel and subpar graphics the original had when playing. The Dead Space Remake is said to take everything the first game offered and improve, build on and outdo it in all these aspects that made the original Dead Space such a fan favorite. (Picture: YouTube / Dead Space)ĭead Space also mirrored the horror element featured in Glen's favorite Resident Evil title, Resident Evil 4, also a fan favorite even to this day for its balanced, yet challenging combat, horror-themed environment, and terrifying enemies. The Dead Space Remake will feature an updated look, feel, and gameplay, but sport similar weapons we are familiar with from the original. This is evident in the game's third-person over-the-shoulder gameplay, with the use of guns and some melee combat. The original Dead Space game, and subsequently, its gameplay, was first conceptualized as "Resident Evil in Space" by its original executive producer Glen Schofield. The game's engine and mechanics have also been on display in a presentation by the developers, which gives us quite a bit to chew on in terms of what we can expect. Based on what we see in the trailer above, the game will be similar to the original but might feature some new content.
